Hit the trails out back for outdoor learning

Wiscasset Schools received a grant through the Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative (MOLI) and now WMHS, the Wiscasset Trails Committee, the Wiscasset Community Center and Chewonki are partnering to improve the trails behind WMHS and WCC in order to extend learning beyond the classroom. During the spring of 2024, teachers will develop cross-disciplinary lessons to be taught outside and on the trails. Throughout the summer of 2024, students, educators, professionals and community members will improve the trails and build spaces for learning that will include seating, and add signage for marking trails and identifying trees.
