WMHS offers students opportunities to participate in athletics at the middle school and high school levels at WMHS, and through cooperative agreements with Boothbay Region High School and Morse High School. Student athletes are expected to balance academics with their practice and game/meet schedules. Participating in athletics is a choice that students should make in cooperation with parents as there is a significant time commitment. All student-athletes are expected to adhere to the rules of WMHS and conduct themselves as good citizens within the school and community at all times.

All students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities offered at WMHS. These activities provide students with the opportunity to learn new skills, compete in a variety of sports, demonstrate leadership, experience being part of a team, develop character, a positive attitude and self-discipline, and realize personal accomplishments. Participation in co-curricular activities is a privilege that carries with it responsibilities to self, classmates, school and community.
