Job Overview:

Wiscasset Middle High School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Athletic Director to oversee and coordinate the athletic programs at both our middle school and high school. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a positive and inclusive sports environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and fostering student-athlete development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee and manage all athletic programs and activities for middle and high school levels.

  • Scheduling: Coordinate practice schedules, game schedules, and transportation for athletic events.

  • Compliance: Ensure all programs comply with Busline League and East/West Conference rules, and Maine Principals’ Association regulations,  as well as school policies.

  • Budgeting: Prepare and manage the athletic budget, including purchasing equipment and supplies.

  • Fundraising: Coordinate with the WMHS Boosters and support teams with their fundraising strategies to support athletic programs.

  • Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and evaluate coaching staff.

  • Student-Athlete Development: Promote academic achievement and personal growth among student-athletes.

  • Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and scheduling of athletic facilities.

  • Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the coaches, administration, parents, and the community.

  • Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: Successful experience in athletic administration or coaching at the middle or high school level.

  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required; Athletic Administrator certification preferred.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing school athletics.

  • Other: Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by athletic events.

Wiscasset School Department is seeking a full time school-wide Social Worker to join its student support team. 

Wiscasset School Department is a public school serving approximately 420 students in grades pre-K - 12 across two buildings. Some of the duties of the Wiscasset School Social Worker are to:

•provide mental health services to students within the school setting in individual and group sessions, 

  • address personal, social, or emotional concerns as they impact students’ educational and social progress

  • perform services with parents to increase their understanding and their constructive participation in resolving their child’s problems, and their knowledge and use of available resources,

  • make home visits per established protocols as part of a collaborative effort to support the connection between families and the school.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.

    Special Education Teacher Middle Level Resource Room  - Wiscasset Middle High School

At  Wiscasset Schools, we pride ourselves on being a small school environment with the ability to focus on individual student growth. Job Description: Provide instruction and support for a caseload of middle school students.  Develop IEPs and complete required special education paperwork that is in compliance with state and federal laws.  Supervise education technicians.  Collaborate with service providers, teachers, parents, administrators.  Facilitate IEP meetings.

WISCASSET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

The Wiscasset Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to work in their Elementary School’s Functional Life Skills program. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop appropriate programming for each student. The ability to work with a collaborative team and to provide guidance to a highly skilled group of Education Technicians is essential. First 10 Community School Outreach Coordinator

  • Serve as one of three leads for the school’s F10CS Leadership Team 

  • Provide oversight/coordination of First 10 plan implementation between meetings 

  • In collaboration with other staff, coordinate outreach to families within the school’s catchment area to connect children and families with comprehensive support services, including but not limited to: 

    • providing access to basic needs supports such as food, clothing, housing resources (including McKinney-Vento), utilities assistance; 

    • assisting families in accessing counseling and health support services (medical, dental, vision care, etc.); 

    • providing access to tutoring, mentoring and after school programs; 

    • connecting multilingual families with translators and interpreters; 

    • providing families with information about educational, vocational, and employment opportunities; 

    • coordinating relief efforts for students and families in crisis situations; and 

    • assisting families with accessing culturally appropriate school and community resources. 

  • Foster collaboration, relationship building, and shared professional learning opportunities between community ECE professionals and early elementary educators 

  • Support children’s transitions into the school and ensure that coordinated systems of support remain through the early elementary grades

  • Collaborate with teachers to support students in Pre-k and early elementary grades 

  • Identify data-supported positive outcomes and service gaps to inform project evaluation and continuous improvement efforts
