Wiscasset Elementary School (WES) is a First 10 Community School, a Resource Hub that focuses on the early years of child development to set children up for success by increasing connections between families, school, and the community. 

The First 10 Team at WES is working on:

• Coordinating the transition into Pre-K and Kindergarten

• Coordinating connections to health and social services for families

• Providing Play and Learn groups linked to WES

• Supporting families by providing information on child development, setting expectations and routines, access to basic needs, and more

• Building relationships with community partners and early childcare providers to better support young children and their families in Wiscasset. 

• Increasing family engagement 

• Promoting ( 5 fun, simple, and powerful ways to help our children aged 0-5 

  grow to be happy and smart.)
