WMHS Seniors Study Wiscasset Wastewater Treatment issue

The WMHS Principles of Democracy (POD) studied the Wiscasset Wastewater Treatment issue by reviewing the site location, environmental policy analysis and proposed alternate locations.  The facility on Cow Island consists of 14 miles of sewer lines (mostly 8-inch lines with 14-inch lines downtown), and 18 pump stations. The Seniors reviewed the initial funding approval on September 1, 2026, where Wiscasset voters approved a $10 million initial funding phase, and the total new plant construction estimates stand at roughly $61 million.
