Having these two smaller buses has been a real asset for experiential learning at Wiscasset. Since they only seat 14, teachers don't have to coordinate a full-size bus and a big group just to get kids out into the community — a class can head to the tide pools, visit a local farm, get to a competition, performance, or visit a historical site. That makes it easier for these trips to actually happen. The smaller size also means staff can get into tighter spots — narrower roads, smaller lots — that a full-size bus just couldn't manage, so there are more places these trips can actually go. All in all, these buses take away a lot of the hassle that normally stands between a good experiential learning idea and it actually happening.
