Dear WMHS Community,
As many of you are aware, our school nurse is currently out on administrative leave. I'm writing to let you know that we are hard at work putting together both a short and long term plan to ensure that our Nurse's Office is covered during the day while this is being resolved.
In the short term, I'd like you all to know that we have enlisted WES School Nurse Nicole Appleton to work with us to ensure proper coverage and a licensed nurse presence here at WMHS beginning immediately. Nicole is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience as a school nurse, and her calm professionalism is already having an impact this week. Nicole will be immediately training designated staff in appropriate basic care, including distribution of daily medications, so we are always covered during the day.
We will be sharing the long term plan as soon as we are able, but please know that our staff is stepping up to make sure our students are safe and well taken care of. We will be OK, and we are taking this very seriously.
