Coach Di Vece said:  "Coach Wade and I have been arranging these soccer games for the last three years.  The players from both teams seem to enjoy it, and so do we.  I'd love to host them here for a night game following the conclusion of our regular season and have our Snack Shack open for the players and fans to enjoy a game under the lights".

The Wolverines team is comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, and Coach Di Vece highlighted most of his younger players throughout the match.  Brunswick's team was all 7th graders.  The game was so fun that both coaches agreed to extend the second half by fifteen minutes to ensure all the boys got extra playing time.

Wade has been the head coach for Brunswick Jr High's Boys teams for twenty-seven years.  He commented:  "These games are one of the high points for our 7th grade's season; they truly look forward to it.  It is a wonderful opportunity for all the boys to play in a festive and positive environment, the fans are amazing!  We decided to take a group photo, which is similar to World Cup tradition.  Best of all, there was zero "flopping" in our World Cup match, with plenty of goals (nine in total), and outstanding goalkeeping from both squads."

The tradition should continue on with a possible re-match in October, and for sure, next year.
