Wiscasset Wolverines Tie Valley High School 1-1

 After two overtime periods, Wiscasset Boys Varsity team tied Valley High School 1-1 in the first regular season game. 

Landin Shirey scored in the second half assisted by Teagan Marr and Wiscasset put pressure on the Valley Soccer team the whole second half and overtime period.

Valley High School scored in the first half after a defensive ricochet by the Wiscasset defensive. Wiscasset responded in the second half ten minutes into the second period and had several opportunities to win the game by a missed penalty game and corner that struck the goal post. 

Valley High School won 11 games last year, so this is a wonderful benchmark to improve as a team moving forward. I was impressed with Levi Stinson and Derek Dyke, solidifying the backline during key substitutions to contribute on defense and helping compress the field and support our strikers.
