The Wiscasset Boys Varsity began the 2026 Preseason by playing four games at the Richmond Bobcat Shootout against Mountain Valley High School (Class C), Richmond High School (Class D Playoff Semifinalists 2025) and Erskine Academy (Class B, KVCC Playoffs 2025) on August 22nd. 

The Wiscasset Boys Varsity record was 1-2-1 in the tournament. The team beat Richmond II Team 2-1, tied Mountain Valley High School 1-1, and lost to Erskine Academy I 2-0 and Erskine II 3-0. Teagan Marr scored two goals, assisted with one, and Gavin James scored one goal and one assist during the tournament. 

The team played 11-Man during the entire tournament and displayed tremendous grit during last game, strong against the Erskine Academy Varsity squad, losing 3-0.  The Wolverines played established powerhouses and successful soccer programs in higher conferences. Richmond did a wonderful job hosting the tournament. 

The next Preseason game is Searsport on August 31st in Wiscasset.
