Students in grades 3–5 took part in a combined puffin and seal watch on Monday, capping off nearly two months of research into local wildlife, indigenous groups, and environmental laws. A huge thank you goes out to Hardy Boat Cruises for making the trip possible! Funding for the excursion came in part through the students' 4th Annual Puffin Penny War, a beloved fundraising tradition that also gives the winning class the honor of naming a puffin symbolically adopted through the National Audubon Society's Project Puffin. This year, that honor went to the WES 3rd grade class, who chose the perfect name for their new feathered friend which is Juicebox.
