Pam Freeman

Pam Freeman has a real way with kids. She's calm and steady, and students pick up on that, and they leave her feeling more settled and ready to get back to work.

Freeman runs the Student Support Center at Wiscasset Elementary School. It's open to any student who has a need that isn't easily addressed in the classroom. Some kids stop in every day, others come by weekly, and some find their way there when they're going through a rough patch. It's also a place where students can sit together and talk through what's on their minds.

More than anything, it's just a peaceful spot. There's no anger, no frustration, it's just a place to decompress. Thanks to Pam,  students head back to class in a lot better shape than when they walked in.

Freeman is a longtime Wiscasset School Department employee who is also known for something you might notice before you even walk through the front door. She's the one who fills those beautiful flower barrels out front, switching them up with each new season.  Wiscasset Elementary School is fortunate to have someone like Pam Freeman, a person who quietly shows up for kids, every day, in more ways than one.
