This spring, students and community members from Wiscasset put on the musical, Matilda, and it did not disappoint. Director Emily Sue Barker and producer Tim Ryan led the charge as the school continues to bring theater back to WMHS.
The cast worked very hard. They tackled tough music, learned their lines, and kept up with demanding choreography. A lot of the older kids played three or four roles, sprinting through costume changes and jumping between characters. Scene changes and stunts went off without a hitch. One cast member spent over ten minutes hiding inside a box, just to make a special effect work.
More than anything, they had fun up there, and it showed. The support from families and the Wiscasset community meant everything.
They’re already looking forward to next year. A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen, those on stage, behind the scenes, and in the audience.
