WMHS ELO Highlights Joleigh Messer and Panacea Maine
Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) highlights Joleigh Messer, a senior at Wiscasset Middle High School learning culinary arts skills at Panacea Maine in Wiscasset.
“Panacea Maine is located at 100 Main Street in Wiscasset, this ocean-inspired eatery brings a fresh take on locally sourced soups and hearty comfort food. Every dish is crafted with high-quality ingredients, celebrating the flavors of Maine with rich broths, seasonal produce, and warm, satisfying meals.”, said the owner, Chauncey Erskine.
After Joleigh completes the first semester field placement at Panacea Maine, she will begin working on completing her ServSafe Managers Certification, administered by the National Restaurant Association. The topics covered include receiving and storing Food, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and food safety regulations. The course culminates with the national certification exam.
