A Walk of Giving

On November 19, students from Wiscasset Elementary School walked down the sidewalk toward St. Philip's Episcopal Church food pantry, carrying colorfully decorated boxes and bags filled with food donations.

The Turkey Trot food drive kicked off on Monday, November 3rd. For the next two weeks, every classroom collected canned goods and other items. The parent group PIE (Partners in Education) supplied each classroom with a box and colored papers for decorating. Students got creative—some added paper turkeys, while others used markers and stickers to make their boxes festive. The kids also made "Happy Thanksgiving" cards to be passed along with the food.

While the older students walked the donations to the church, the younger children played an equally important role by preparing and decorating the collection boxes. Every class pitched in, and every student helped make it happen.
