“Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) Highlights WMHS Student Success”

Kaydence Littlefield gains invaluable teaching experience and educational knowledge with the Sheepscot Valley Children’s House (SVCH) in Wiscasset, part of the Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) program at WMHS.  

Kaydence, a WMHS Senior, will be pursuing college at the University of Maine at Farmington, Early Childhood Education next year shared, “The Extended Learning Opportunity program became available to me last year. I am working at the Sheepscot Valley Children’s House through this program every other day. This experience has been so exciting that I have decided to pursue a career in early childhood education.”

The Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) Program seeks to in Maine youth gain a better understanding of their career opportunities, acquire valuable foundational and 21st Century skills, as well as create meaningful connections to employers in our state.

Sheepscot Valley Children’s House (SVCH) Toddler program introduces children to both traditional and Montessori education, in a safe and secure environment with a focus on the individual child’s needs.
