Integrated science classes visited Damariscotta Mills fish ladder to observe the annual migration of alewives (also known as river herring) from the Atlantic to Damariscotta Lake via the restored stone fish ladder. Alewives are an important ecological and economical species that have made a remarkable comeback as WMHS students witnessed while viewing thousands of the fish.
