Danielle Barry from CMP visited the 4th & 5th grade students at WES and did a presentation about electricity safety. Danielle taught the kids to leave all lines from Central Maine Power alone and to call 911 if they see a line down. The students learned about how electricity is distributed from the power source to their homes. She also talked about generator safety and what to do if a line comes down on a car that you are in. The students had wonderful questions about safety with electricity. They were most excited about the demonstration table as they saw what would happen when you come into contact with a line or a transformer. No line is safe to touch, ever!
