This Wednesday was extra Whacky at the Wiscasset Elementary School. Students arrived at
school with all manner of crazy heads of hair. There were pipe cleaners, hair gel, spotted tops
and spikey rows. Students were celebrating reaching their goal of earning pom poms for being
Safe, Responsible, and Respectful with a Crazy Hair Day.
Students at WES earn pom poms for times they follow the school expectations of being Safe,
Responsible and Respectful. Then they place the pom poms in a large jug. Once the pom poms
reach a certain level, the entire school celebrates together.
Students have generated lots of fun celebration ideas for the year including a door decorating
contest, a winter carnival, and a glow stick dance party to name a few. Everyone at WES looks
forward to a Safe, Responsible, and Respectful learning year ahead with some added fun!
