WINTER KIDS IN THE ART ROOM!
LAST WEEK, while in art class, our 3rd and 4th grade WES Winter Kids worked in teams to brainstorm ideas for a work of art that would feature their engagement in outdoor winter activities. Diagonal lines helped these artists show movement and direction changes on a flat surface. Some strategically place diagonal lines can even show speed!
To generate ideas for a work of art students generated lists by table teams and then compared their team lists to a pictorial list that Ms. Barnes projected on the viewing screen, in her room. Students added activities to a collective list as new ideas popped up.
IDEAS to ART…… PRINTMAKING TECHNIQUE
Students chose their favorite winter activity from the list and created a Winter Activity drawing.
THIS WEEK students began to transfer their Winter Activity drawings to a styrofoam plate.
LASTLY, an exhibit of the final prints will be displayed in the front hallway of the Wiscasset Elementary School.
Here are a few preliminary drawings done by several of our 4th graders. ENJOY and get outdoors!
