WISCASSET SCHOOL DEPARTMENT has openings for the following positions:
HS STEM/Middle School CTE Teacher:
Must have a strong background in computer sciences. Looking for a dynamic, creative and innovative teacher to join the WMHS team. Maine certifications preferred in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 330S, 350S, 395S - Position will remain open until suitable candidate is found.
High School Mathematics Teacher: WMHS has an opening for a mathematics teacher with a solid background and experience in Algebra, Geometry and calculus. Maine DOE 7-12 Mathematics endorsement required.
Anticipated Central Office Administrative Assistant (30 hours per week):
The administrative assistant will be responsible for the daily tasks of the Central Office including answering the telephone and greeting visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an office environment and problem solving on a regular basis. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time. This position will report directly to the Superintendent of Schools.
IEP Coordinator/Instructional Coach:
This staff member will be an organized, flexible, innovative special educator. The successful candidate will have ME DOE 282, 079 or 035 Endorsement and experience with:
-Teaching in special education for at least 3 years,
-Knowledge of Maine and Federal special education law and regulations and successfully completed special education law courses,
-Facilitating IEP Meetings
- Providing consultation and feedback to special education teachers and other stakeholders,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and detail oriented.
The yearly schedule will be teacher contracted days, plus additional days to be determined. This position reports to the Director of Special Education and the primary responsibilities are the coordination of special education services and serving as an administrator designee for IEP meetings as well as providing support as an instructional coach to special education teachers, other duties as assigned.
Grades 7-12 Certified high school teachers (all content areas welcome to apply) - WMHS is anticipating the need for high school teachers to support all content areas
Elementary Level teaching position(s) ~ beginning with 2021-2022 school year:Elementary classroom teaching experience at the primary levels preferred. Must have ME DOE General Elementary Endorsement (020)
The successful candidate for each position will be a student-centered, collaborative teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning at the elementary level. Strong communication skills and effective and appropriate classroom management skills are absolutely required. All candidates must have appropriate K-8 teacher certification. These positions will remain open until suitable candidates are found.
