Please see the message below from Superintendent England regarding Scarlet Fever at WCC.
Good Morning
Many of you may be aware of the issue at WCC this past weekend regarding a health issue/concern known as scarlet fever.
This morning, I had a conversation with the Maine CDC for guidance regarding scarlet fever. CDC stated that with the flu, covid, RSV etc. we may overlook issues that may become scarlet fever.
CDC recommends that parents monitor children for signs specifically with sore throat. The CDC guidelines provided at this link all parents should be aware.
CDC National Scarlet Fever =>. https://www.cdc.gov/groupastrep/diseases-public/scarlet-fever.html. ( very comprehensive information)
