Educational Technician III   WES Resource Room K-3

Wiscasset School Department is seeking a flexible Educational Technician III to join Wiscasset Elementary School’s Resource K-3 Program.  Students in this program demonstrate a wide variety of academic and functional needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.  A successful candidate will be able to closely collaborate with the Program’s team to manage student behaviors, implement IEPs, support students in the regular and special education settings in 1:1 or small group scenarios, and support students’ unique needs as appropriate.  Candidate must have appropriate Educational Technician III certification and CHRC authorization with Department of Education.  A goal of life-long learning is required.


This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Preference will be given to those with prior experience. ME DOE Ed. Tech. III certification required.

Educational Technician III (Library)


The successful candidate will be self-directed and willing to work collaboratively with staff.  The candidate will support the school department’s library media specialist and provide daily library classes (K-6), with a focus on literature appreciation.  Strong communication skills and effective and appropriate classroom management skills are must-haves.  Experience working in a school library setting is preferred.  All candidates must have appropriate 023 Ed Tech III certification.

Wiscasset School Department is currently seeking substitutes for the following areas:

Bus and van drivers to drive regular routes, sports trips and some field trips, CDL with endorsements required

Custodial - prior cleaning experience preferred, but will train. Must be able to provide own transportation, and be able to work independently or as a group in a school setting.

Kitchen Staff - prior experience preferred, but will train the right people.

Applicants for all positions must be ME DOE background and fingerprint checked.

Grade 3 classroom teacher
The successful candidate will be a student-centered, collaborative teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning.  Experience using the workshop model, Everyday Math, and Lucy Calkins Units of Study is preferred. Strong communication skills, knowledge of standards-based learning, and effective and appropriate classroom management skills are all must-haves.   All candidates must have appropriate K-8 teacher certification.
 
Elementary classroom teaching experience required with an ME DOE general elementary endorsement (020). Position will remain open until suitable candidate is found.
